How Many Mothers are there in the Universe?

How many mothers are there in the universe?
So many. More than we can count.
Everything and everyone has a mother.

The sky is the mother to all things that live below it.
The sun is the mother of the moon.
The moon is the mother of night.
The night is the mother to the wondrous world of dreamland.

And while all kiddies sleep and dream of fuzzy-tailed dogs and giraffes reaching to the sky, all the mothers of the universe are still being moms because the universe is the mother to all things that live within it: earth, water, fire and air.

The earth is the mother of the vine.
The vine is the mother of fruit.
Fruit is the mother of the seed.
The seed is the mother of new life, and all the new baby brothers and sisters everywhere in the world.
Water is the mother of clouds. Clouds are mother to rain.
Rain is the mother to all the rivers and oceans on our earth.
Rivers and oceans are the mother to all the creatures of the sea, and all their mommies too.
Fire is the mother of heat.
Heat is the mother of light.
Light is the mother to the day.
Day is the mother to being awake, and to all things that you see on earth, and beyond.
Air is the mother of everything that is invisible.
Being invisible is the mother of everything that lives in our imagination: pink pussy-cats and zebras with umbrellas.
Imagination is the mother of all that we wish for.
Our wishes are the mother of all of our tomorrows.
Who is your mother? Is she like any other mother?

Does she hold you in a pouch like a mother kangaroo?
Does she glide you through the water like you’re a baby fish?
Is she warm like the sun when you snuggle up next to her?
Does she tell you that your wishes will all come true?
Your mommy has one special wish – It’s YOU.

There are more mommies in the universe than we can count.
And your mom is only ONE.
But she is the one who counts the MOST.
